Roxy’s owners are going through a divorce and have decided to rehome her. She’s been well-loved and she’ll need a special family that can give her all the love she needs to make this transition into a new home and for the rest of her senior years. This is what her owner wrote:

“My beautiful fur baby Roxy was born on May 3rd 2015. She is 9 years old. She is the best dog anyone could ever own! She is the most loving, loyal and protective of her family! I got her when she was 3 months old and my son was 3 years old and they have been best friends since! She had the biggest ears that she grew into!  When we introduced our kitten to her 2 years ago she decided that it was officially her new baby and they are the best play and nap buddies ever! She loves long walks and longer naps! She loves car rides and getting her Starbucks Puppucinos! She loves getting dolled up and celebrates each and everyday! When she's not playing soccer with her boy, she can be found digging a hole to hide her fur "baby" in to find later! She has loved her Lambchop "baby since they met! She loves to help her mom garden and loves to stop and smell the roses! She is the silliest puppy-girl and will find a way to make you laugh everyday! She has the prettiest Sable fur coat anyone has ever seen that helps her stay warm and enjoy jumping around in the snow to her hearts desire! But she also will find the sunniest spot and steal your spot by the pool if your not quick enough! She loves to join in on your yoga session and will take your spot on the mat! You have to be quick around Roxy Boxy-she will steal your spot but mostly your heart!”

NERO

Nero is an affectionate 2 year old male who suffers from anxiety when meeting new people. This anxiety does not result in destructive behaviors like tearing things up or accidents in the house.

If he’s walking on a leash outside or in a store he is totally fine seeing new people and other dogs. But if a person he doesn’t know tries to interact with him he barks and growls. It can be quite intimidating so we recommend that he wears a vest in public that alerts people not to approach him.

He doesn't like to meet company and prefers seclusion when company is over. It's recommended to give him his own spot where he can feel safe and comfortable.

He’s not a highly driven German Shepherd. He’s fine spending time home alone and although he loves a good run, he’s on the lower end of exercise requirements for this breed.

He’d be a great companion for someone who doesn’t mind a dog that doesn’t want to meet new people. He’s loving and eager to please, and quite honestly a big teddy bear once he feels safe with you. He loves car rides and would do well as a sidekick for a delivery driver.

The toughest part of his transition would be the introduction process to get him to feel safe with his new owner. This would require a couple meetings. After that would be pretty clear sailing as he’s had extensive obedience training and has very good house manners.

He gets along well with other dogs and actually benefits from having a confident female around as he follows her lead. We haven’t had him around cats but he doesn’t exhibit much of a prey drive so I believe he’d do well.

ABOUT NERO:

- He’s 2 years old, intelligent and sweet.

- He has a strong desire to attach himself to one person in a household.

- He requires owners who are confident to help show him he doesn’t need to be fearful.

- It is not recommended for him to live with children as they usually can’t exhibit the leadership Nero needs.

- Once he adjusts to his surroundings and bonds with his new owners, he’s a teddy bear. Very loving and affectionate to those people.
