McHenry County Canicross Group - TIMED TRIALS - Spring 2026 Session

Our Timed Trials a are fun filled experience where we time you & your dog running 1 mile in the Spring and again in the Fall so you can see how much progress you’ve made. This is all in fun and you’re only competing with yourself. We follow our Timed Trials by an easy going run.

Join the McHenry County Canicross Group!

Whether you’re new to running, new to canicross, or an experienced trail runner, this group is for you! We meet every other Saturday from 8–10 AM at Sterne's Woods in Crystal Lake, IL for a free, fun, friendly run with our dogs.

We’ll practice basic commands, help beginners get started, and offer loaner gear so you can try before you buy. NOTE: Please arrive 20 minutes early if you need to try on gear.

All experience levels welcome—this is a great way to bond with your dog, get outside, and meet fellow dog lovers!

🐾 This is a FREE event, just bring your dog and water—we’ll handle the rest!

BEFORE YOUR FIRST RUN:

2. Text Kate Dalman at 815-444-1244 to join our group text so you can stay updated on any changes and let us know when you plan to make it to a run. If you don’t have gear let Kate know via text and arrive 20 minutes early for your first run!
